Happy Birthday, George

George Orwell, who taught me to tell things as they are regardless of ideology, was born June 25, 1903, in India.  He is best remembered as the author of Animal Farm and 1984. But in his essay, “Why I write,” he also noted that  “In our age, there is no such thing as ‘keeping out of politics. All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia.”
